La minaccia principale per la Caretta caretta e il Tursiops truncatus è rappresentata
dall'interazione con le attività di pesca, il coinvolgimento e la partecipazione attiva dei pescatori che operano nell'area interessata dal progetto è fondamentale per il suo successo.
Per questo motivo è previsto uno specifico programma di attività destinato al mondo della pesca.
Il programma prevede:
a) Una serie di incontri preparatori in cui viene presentato il progetto, illustrate le sue finalità e descritte le iniziative destinate ai pescatori e per le quali è richiesto il loro coinvolgimento.
Sono previsti incontri preparatori da tenersi in altrettante località d'importanza strategica per la realizzazione del progetto, durante i quali è auspicabile individuare altrettanti referenti locali tra i pescatori.
Queste figure avranno anche il compito contribuire alla definizione dei protocolli di
sperimentazione e parteciperanno, in quanto portatori di interessi economici locali, all'elaborazione dell'Action plan sul tursiope.
Le località sono: Lampedusa, Linosa, Porto Empedocle, Sciacca, Licata e
Marsala;
b) Svolgimento di una serie di moduli formativi che verteranno sull'uso sostenibile
delle risorse del mare e sulla pesca responsabile.
Gli incontri saranno anche l'occasione per presentare ai pescatori delle varie marinerie i sistemi per la riduzione dell'interazione tra delfini e tartarughe marine e le attività di pesca;
c) realizzazione di un volume con le "best practices" per la pesca responsabile.
La pubblicazione verrà distribuita attraverso le associazioni di pesca in tutte le marinerie siciliane ;
d) Corsi di preparazione ideati appositamente per dare vita ad iniziative di
pescaturismo e di dolphinwatching che permettano l'integrazione del reddito dei pescatori e che dimostrino che la conservazione della natura "paga".
e) Incontri tra i pescatori referenti di progetto e i pescatori delle marinerie greche e spagnole coinvolte rispettivamente in progetti LIFE Natura.
Gli incontri sono finalizzati allo scambio d'informazioni e di esperienze su problematiche comuni;
f) Realizzazione di materiali promozionali destinati ai pescatori.

Preparatory meetings are anticipated to hold him in as many places of strategic importance for the realization of the project, during which it is desirable to individualize as many local referents among the fishermen.

The places are: Lampedusa, Linosa, Porto Empedocle, Sciacca, Licata and Marsala;

The publication will be distributed through the associations of fishing in all the Sicilian marines;
d) To carry out courses to give life to initiatives of fishing and tourism of dolphinwatching that allow the integration of the income of the fishermen and that they show that the maintenance of the natures" pay." e) Meetings among the reporting fishermen of the project and the fishermen of the Greek and Spanish marines respectively involved in projects LIFE Natura.
The meetings are finalized to the information interchange and of experiences on common problem list;
f) Realization of promotional materials destined to the fishermen.

Il progetto prevede la realizzazione d'interventi di rilevanza nazionale rivolti al grande pubblico.
Attività previste:
1) VIDEO SUL MONDO DEI DELFINI
Nell'ambito del progetto si prevede di realizzare un filmato che porterà il telespettatore alla scoperta del mondo dei delfini descrivendone gli aspetti
biologici ed etologici e illustrando, con un linguaggio semplice che unisce chiarezza divulgativa e rigore scientifico, le problematiche legate alla conservazione di queste specie.
Il video verrà distribuito principalmente alle scuole e alle marinerie siciliane.

2) REALIZZAZIONE MATERIALI INFORMATIVI E PROMOZIONALI
Per assicurare ampia diffusione al progetto verranno realizzati i seguenti materiali che verranno utilizzati sia per la distribuzione nazionale che per quella locale:
- opuscolo informativo che servirà ad illustrare il progetto e le sue finalità al grande pubblico.
Allestimento sito internet dedicato al progetto con pagine web che ne illustrano obiettivi, azioni e area d'intervento anche attraverso l'ausilio d'immagini e di brevi filmati.

2) realization Material Informative it is Promotional to assure ample diffusion to the project will be realized the material followings that will be used both for the national distribution and for that local: - informative brochure that will serve to illustrate the project and its finalities to the great public. Preparation site internet devoted to the project with pages web that they also illustrate objective of it, actions and area of intervention through the aid of images and brief tapes.

Per il mondo della scuola s'intende dare vita ad un'iniziativa di rilevanza regionale denominata "Un delfino e una tartaruga per amici".
Si tratta di un programma di educazione ambientale destinato alle scuole che ha
l'obiettivo di coinvolgere attivamente gli studenti delle scuole siciliane nel programma di conservazione dei delfini e della tartaruga marina rafforzando così anche il legame con il proprio territorio.
All'inizio dell'anno scolastico si prevede d'inviare per posta a tutte le scuole elementari e medie della Sicilia un manifesto e depliant informativo su questa iniziativa spiegando quali sono le finalità e le modalità per parteciparvi.
Alle classi che invieranno la scheda di adesione contenuta nel depliant informativo, verranno inviati dei kit didattici appositamente realizzati (valigette in cartone riciclato) contenenti materiali didattici, divulgativi e promozionali che serviranno a portare avanti un progetto didattico per l'intero anno scolastico.
Sono Previsti:
a) CD Rom che, spiegherà gli obiettivi e le azioni del presente progetto, introdurrà i ragazzi in modo semplice e intuitivo alla conoscenza delle tartarughe marine e dei delfini.
L'opera illustrerà inoltre, attraverso immagini e brevi filmati, quali sono i pericoli che minacciano la sopravvivenza di queste specie e le più idonee strategie di conservazione;
b) una raccolta di 30 schede contenenti domande, notizie e curiosità sul mondo dei delfini e delle tartarughe;
c) un manifesto sul progetto LIFE appositamente realizzato per le scuole da affiggere in classe;
d) adesivi (si stima sia questo il numero medio degli alunni per classe);
e) depliant informativi sul progetto LIFE realizzati appositamente per i ragazzi;
f) un foglio notizie contenente indicazioni e consigli su come organizzare l'evento e su come organizzare un evento locale e su come preparare l'elaborato.
Le classi saranno, infatti, invitate a produrre durante l'anno scolastico degli elaborati sui temi relativi alla conservazione dei delfini e delle tartarughe marine e ad organizzare prima della conclusione dell'anno scolastico un evento in occasione de "La giornata del delfino e della tartaruga", un'iniziativa che si svolgerà in contemporanea in tutte le scuole che avranno aderito al progetto.
L'evento cui dovranno dar vita le scuole è finalizzato a sensibilizzare i cittadini e gli amministratori delle loro città.
A titolo esemplificato i ragazzi potranno organizzare rappresentazioni teatrali, mostre fotografiche, incontri pubblici e altre iniziative che abbiano come oggetto la conservazione della tartaruga marina e del tursiope.
La realizzazione di questa giornata è pensata anche per aver visibilità sui mezzi di comunicazione di massa che certamente guarderanno con interesse e attenzione a questa originale iniziativa realizzata da bambini e ragazzi.
Al progetto è abbinato un concorso di merito per cui i migliori 50 elaborati prodotti dalle classi saranno premiate con delle magliette appositamente realizzate per questa iniziativa.

They are inclused:
a) CD Rom that will explain the objectives and the actions of the present project, it will introduce the boys in simple and intuitive way to the knowledge of the sea turtle and the dolphins.
The work will illustrate besides, through images and tapes, what the dangers that threaten the survival of these kinds and the fittest strategies of maintenance;
b) a harvest of 30 cards containing questions, news and curiosity on the world of the dolphins and the turtles ;
c) a poster on the project LIFE on purpose realized for the schools by to post in the classeroom; ;
e) informative brochure on the project LIFE on purpose realized for the students
f) a sheet news containing indications and suggestions on as to organize the event and on as to organize a local event and on as to prepare the elaborate one.
The classes will be, in fact, you invite to produce during the scholastic year of the elaborate ones on the themes related to the maintenance of the dolphins and the sea turtle and to organize before the conclusion of the scholastic year an event in occasion of" You day of the dolphin and the turtle", an initiative that will develop at the same time in all the schools that will have stuck to the project.
The event which will have to give life the schools is finalized to sensitize the citizens and the administrators of their cities.
To exemplified title the boys can organize theatrical representations, photographic shows, meetings public and other initiatives that have as object the maintenance of the sea turtle and the tursiope.
The realization of this day is also thought for having visibility on the means of communication of mass that they will certainly look with interest and attention at this original initiative realized by children and boys.
To the project a contest of worth is combined for which the best 50 elaborate produced by the classes they will be winning with some shirts on purpose realized for this initiative.

Per le popolazioni residenti nei luoghi oggetto dell'intervento è previsto uno specifico programma di attività d'informazione e sensibilizzazione teso a rendere informata e partecipe del progetto la cittadinanza e a renderla edotta dei benefici che questa iniziativa comporta per la collettività.
Il piano degli interventi prevede:
a) incontri con la popolazione locale per presentare il progetto nei territori che contengono i SICp dove vengono localizzate le azioni; (Lampedusa , Linosa, Castelvetrano, Sciacca, Siculiana);
b) incontri con gli operatori turistici locali per chiedere il coinvolgimento degli stessi nelle azioni di promozione per i turisti (prevalentemente distribuzione di materiale informativo);
c) realizzazione e distribuzione di una newsletter presso tutti i comuni e le provincie coinvolte sul progetto.
